8 Tips For Finding Your Purpose in Life

This post is all about discovering your purpose in life

I have never really been that confident (despite what my mum would say). But I know first-hand how awful it can be to not know where your life is going. But guess what? That is totally normal. Finding purpose in life as a young adult is no joke and it is some serious pressure. It is super scary to even think about! But to find your purpose in life, you need to know where and how to start.

Find The Curiosity You Crave

I always thought I wanted something I actually never wanted lol. It was just a way to please other people. Do what they wanted me to do and what the norm was (being a girl and the only child has its hardships)

But now, ever since I really decided to find my curiosity and do what I love and enjoy, it has become way easier. You need to make your life’s purpose the best and have an amazing experience in actually living life. You need to be discovering your passions!

So, how do you actually do that? You really need to know what makes you happy and where you want to be in life and what you want to be doing (it’s as simple as that lol). I don’t expect you to have it all figured out, but sometimes, the right roadmap can lead you to places that are more wonderful than imagined. 😊

Feel Alive Every Single Moment

We’re so invested in other people that we tend to forget ourselves and our purpose in life. Instead, we just live for the sake of living. I know that this year and for me to be internally happy, I need to feel alive more than ever before. I need to take every single moment and make it my own. I am not going to let other people define my own happiness and definitely, and I will be focusing on making myself my priority.

Be Mindful and Make Better Decisions

Finding purpose in life through mindfulness and self-reflection is the number one thing I am doing this time around. I am making sure that my decisions are not just for that particular moment. Rather it is more conscious and more sound. Making sure that the decisions I make now reflect a healthier and happier me for the future. (Yes, I know it might be a bit too much but it is absolutely true).

I know I am only 23 (I feel so old lol), but that doesn’t mean I am not thinking about the future. A big part of my life is thinking and planning for the years ahead. Making sure that every single day I am achieving my goals and being the best version of myself that I can possibly be!

See The World and All Its Beauty

The world is so big (not just our little bubble that we have going on most of the time lol). It is super huge and there are so many things that I want to see and do. Places I want to travel and make new friends and see different cultures.

For me, finding my purpose in life is also about travelling and exploring my mind and my likes. Finding purpose in a world of endless options is the one thing that can actually make you understand yourself better.

This year, if things go as planned, I will travel to a place that has been on one of my bucket lists for years and years lol. So, lots and lots of fingers crossed. 😊

Time For A Career Change

I am not big on change – in fact, I hate it so bad. But, growing up has made me realize that change is good. No doubt, change is a part of life that you can’t change lol. For me, finding purpose after a career change will probably be the best thing that will happen. I am slowly starting to develop that and work on my blog (which you’re reading  — hopefully).

A career change is no doubt the fastest way you can feel renewed and refreshed while finding your life’s purpose in no time!

Be Passionate About The Things You Love

There is a quote that I recently read that went like this – “Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”

It’s true. The more passionate you are about living life and doing the things you love; your purpose in life becomes easier to determine.

I know for me, that is this blog and working on my self-improvement. Finding purpose through personal growth and self-discovery is the main thing that keeps us all alive. You keep working. You keep improving. And you keep dreaming. It is how the cycle goes and to be honest, right now my dreams are slowly becoming a reality and I am liking it lol 😊.

Serve Others To Serve Yourself

I love helping others. However much I can help, I do. And I absolutely love it and wouldn’t change it. Finding purpose through community service is one goal that I want to achieve later in life. I love serving my community and I want to have a voice that I heard. (I know I am going a bit too deep but hey). I really want to be able to have the right purpose in life and make other young females be motivated to do the same.

Finding purpose through meaningful work is no doubt on my list of life things to do!

Make Friends in Unexpected Places

I was so against exploring and super rigid in so many aspects. But that never did me any good. Now I am finding purpose in unexpected places and for me, that means making friends in places I never thought I would.

I have been working in a job for three years and I never really found my place up until now. I have made such good friends that I know will be there for me through thick and thin. For a lifetime, I hope. And honestly, I can’t imagine my life without any one of them.

Dear Misfits

I know it can feel like life is unfair and that you are not being able to fit in. That you have no clue what your purpose in life actually is and that nothing seems to make sense. I feel it all the time. And those that say that they have everything figured out – are an absolute lie. No one has this life a hundred percent figured out. We’re all still learning and growing each and every single day.

Instead of focusing on not being able to find your path, make your own. Do what you love and enjoy every moment. Start from the small steps and watch those small goals manifest into bigger dreams. Trust me, the process isn’t that complicated. Finding your purpose in life is way easier when you’re doing things that you actually love doing. For me, that is writing for my blog and learning new skills.
