The one thing I love about winter more than any other season is the “let’s stay in” vibe. I don’t feel like going outside and am more comfortable in my home than at any other time. But, sometimes, my wellness routine suffers – my mental and physical health both decline. 

In the wintertime, I am more sleepy. I hate getting out of bed and just love to cozy up and basically not move, But, now is the time for you, me and anyone out there to get some morning ritual wellness in and for you to refresh your wellness routine from bed!!

1. Get The Extra Rest

Wellness enhanced morning rituals don’t always have to be too over complicated. Winter is made for us to enjoy and the nights have become longer, so you can catch up on some missed sleep at the same time. We’re always so busy and rushing from one thing to the next, we forget to prioritize the most important element of wellness – sleep!

The more sleep you get, the more positive energy you have. Think of the positive and happy mood you get after drinking coffee, you’ll get that but better and for free. When I sleep less, I am much more cranky, annoyed, pissed off and moody than ever. For me sleep is wellness and the more I get it, the better my mind works. Sleep can actually reduce stress and anxiety because you feel more rested and relaxed and your brain has time to calm down from the stress factors all around. 

2. Practice Some Breathing Techniques

Breathing techniques honestly make a difference. I’m prone to getting anxiety attacks and panic attacks so the more I control my breathing, the better I am. Use some simple breathing techniques and add them to your daily wellness rituals for better mental peace, wellbeing and overall mood booster. The perfect wellness trick to enhance your ritual wellness morning routine!!

Conscious breathwork exercises provoke calmness in your mind, give you a sense of stability and safety and help to increase blood flow as well. Sometimes the best wellness practices don’t always have to be overcomplicated. A few simple wellness rituals from bed can actually improve your day. So, what’s the simplest breathing exercise that you can do from your bed? Empty your lungs, breath in from your nose for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds and exhale out of your mouth for 8 seconds. Repeat the same cycle another three times and do it for four reps (or until you feel calmed and relaxed). Whatever works for you 😀

3. Journal For Better Mental Peace

A simple wellness routine can mean that you just journal in the morning – you don’t have to even move out of your bed to write down all your emotions, worries and thoughts that have been surrounding you. 

Schedule 10-15 minutes out of your day, preferably in the morning, to calm your mind and focus on your wellness rituals with some peace and quiet. For me, journalling I do in the form of just writing what I feel on my phone (in the notes app). It has actually helped me with increasing confidence, self-image, and self-esteem and allowed me to really put all of my feelings and emotions into perspective. Whatever journalling looks for you, do it. 

There is no set way to journalling, and you don’t have to conform to how other people do it either. Whatever calms your mind, keep up with that and see how journalling can help with boosting your mental health and increasing a worthy image of yourself. 

4. Move Your Body In Bed

You don’t always have to get out of bed to move around. Stretch it out, Stretching can actually release all of the tension you have held within your body, increasing flexibility, movement, and blood flow and just giving you a general sense of mood-boosting positivity. I love to stretch and most of the time, I am stretching – be it in bed, while working, walking or even in the shower lol. 😇

See it is simple, you don’t always have to do complicated stuff to have the best wellness habit and wellness routines. Simple rituals can turn your morning routine into a blast and actually make them worthwhile. The more overcomplex you make you start of the day, the less you will feel like doing it. 

5. Give Some Love To Yourself Too

We are always so inclined to give love to others that we forget to give love to ourselves too. The more you love yourself, the less you will care what other people think about you. Promoting self-compassion and kindness within you and trusting yourself is the one wellness ritual that can change your life.. Stop taking validation from others when you are enough to love yourself entirely and wholesome, more than anyone else can!!

I am a big daydream fanatic and I have only just come to realise that my daydreaming all the time was actually manifestation and visualising my goals. 💤 Manifesting your goals into reality is the one thing that can actually help to keep you aligned and centered. I always say that if we stop dreaming, then that will be the day we stop living. 

Dreams keep us going, and keep us hoping for a better life and a better future. So go ahead, manifest and visualise your dreams into fruition from the comfort of your bed. This wellness ritual is the most easiest, simplest and the most fun because you get to explore the depth of your dream and actually create the life you want to live. 💯

7. Enjoy The Moment You’re In

There are countless days when I wish I didn’t have to think about the “next steps” or I could just not have to be doing anything. We always worry too much about what is next instead of enjoying the moments we are in. Since New Year is approaching super soon, one of my main goals is to enjoy life. I mean, there’s going to be a lot of pressure, burden, and worries that’ll come later on in life, but for now, I want to enjoy the moments – be it the smallest of things or the bigger ones, I just to be in the NOW PHASE OF MY LIFE!!!
