8 Indoor Winter Hobbies for The Winter Season

This article is all about the best winter hobby ideas for a productive winter routine

The likelihood of me going outside and doing activities is super rare. I mean I’ll go eat at a restaurant and sit inside in the warmth, but that is about it. It is freezing, and I am saying that from where I live (where it isn’t even that cold)! Plus, I go out with my mum most of the times, and she absolutely hates the COLD WEATHER!!!! So, I’m not going outside, which leaves me with some really fun indoor activities to pursue for my winter hobby! 😊

I am a big fan of learning new skills, taking up some new hobbies and what better is the time other than winter to get down and learn, enjoy and play around with some winter hobbies for a fun wintertime. I love Netflix and chill, and cozying up in bed while watching some amazing Turkish dramas (I love Turkish seasons a lot lot) 😊. But this winter, I really wanna start doing something other than that. I need a winter hobby to actually get my teeth sunken into and really start enjoying my life.

Learn Something New in The Kitchen

Learning something new in the kitchen is an amazing way to showcase the talent that has been brewing within from ages. All of those YouTube cooking shows will be put to good use! I love to eat, hence, I love to be around food at all times. So for me, learning something new in the kitchen is such a delight. Even if you are not one of those kitchen persons and absolutely hate the idea of cooking, watching some cooking videos is a real treat and gets those tastebuds wet at least 😊.

This is a fun little winter hobbies for women idea that’ll definitely spark up some creativity and if not in the kitchen, get you excited about your next meal. This even helps with deciding what type of restaurant food you happen to be craving and what next to try on your restaurant tasting list!!!

Take Up a Little Meditation or Yoga Routine

A fun winter hobbies indoors idea is doing something that will get the blood flowing and keep you sane, through the wintertime at least. I know this time of year can be a bit depressing and make you feel more secluded than other seasons. Not only does it get dark outside earlier than other times, but can also be draining and make you feel alone. Good winter hobbies are those that help to keep you motivated, sane and can become sustainable for the long run.

Yoga and meditation are really beneficial when it comes to just relaxing the mind and getting rid of any unnecessary anxiety that has developed over this winter season. You don’t even have to go out the house to enjoy this little activity to yourself. A bit of me time goes along way. Winter hobbies at home are fun, enjoyable and give the most satisfaction out of you.

Adapt a New Skill

Best indoor hobbies for winter is to learn a new skill and get creative at doing so. Learn a new language, start taking a graphic designing course or write the novel you have always wanted to write. I personally love the wintertime to adapt new hobbies and skills and learn so many new things to get my creative spark going for the New Year and onward. Hobbies for winter months are an amazing thing to do, because it is all about you.

Everyone is busy spending tons of money on gifts, shopping and getting drunk (not a bad thing to do tho) 😊. But you could be learning something new and really focus on going all out, so you can get the best job in town, or start your own business. Sometimes, the smallest steps are the bigger ones and help you get to your end goal in no time. Baby steps to achieve what you want with the perfect winter hobby to maximize your efforts. 😊

Create a Blog or Instagram

Some fun winter hobbies are the ones that are enjoyable to do. For me, in this season, it is focusing on my Instagram and creating some killer content that’ll get me the engagement. Taking it into the summertime and really being able to put my skills and knowledge to some good use and for myself for once.

The right cold weather hobbies don’t always have to be expensive either. I started my blog 2 years back and never really focused on it, because simply, I didn’t know how. But now, ever since the colder months have come about, I am truly enjoying doing something for me instead of others. I have grown my Instagram to nearly 2k followers only in a few months or so and really loved the whole process. Winter is the perfect season to get everything aligned and take all the fun into the New Year for a prosperous time ahead 😊.

Listen to a New Podcast

This one is a new winter hobby that I want to start. I have it on my January bucket list to find a fun podcast that is also insightful. We really get tied into how others are living their lives and really not focus on how we should be living. We always say we are unhappy but never decide on changing things up. I for one, am like this.

The best hobbies for winter evenings can be just putting your earphones in, listening to a good podcast and really having that time to yourself and learning something new. I really haven’t looked into what podcast I want to hear, but I have a few on my mind. One is from the Skinny Confidential!!!

Start Journaling and Scrapbooking

One of the best things to start doing is scrapbooking and journaling this winter season. It’s one of the best winter time hobbies for everyone. I love to just recollect all of my memories and turn them into my own polaroid’s. Then just get them printed out and stick them to my scrapbook as memories. I really want to keep this as a tradition moving forward and when I have kids in the future, really would love it if they did this and just keep the tradition forward. Lol, is it weird that I think such long term?

For me journalling and scrapbooking is a more personalized way than just some photo albums. I love a good photo album but making it more personal and really just giving thought into the whole process makes it more wonderful in doing so. So yeah, one of my winter hobby ideas to keep up with and pass on as a forceful tradition lol.

Make a Vision Board for the New Year

I’ve always been in love with the idea of vision boards and really just making them. For me, visualizing my goals and dreams for the upcoming year is such a beautiful and motivational part. I mean, I hope you feel the same. But to me, this is such a interesting winter hobby to adapt. This just goes to show that not all hobbies are made for the outdoor and some hobbies for winter indoor ideas are even better.

For me, vision boards are super quick and easy. I really just envision my vision and make them on one of my favourite designing apps online. So, there is no need for the hassle of glue, paper and tape (although I love scrapbooking and making stuff super colourful lol) 😊.

Starting a YouTube Channel for Free

I mean come on, who hasn’t thought about starting a YouTube channel? I mean it is about to be 2023 and what is the best time to make some extra money and show the world what you eat? L.O.L. But with all seriousness, I have just started a YouTube channel and let.me.tell.you, it is not easy. But it is super duper fun. 😊

Hobbies in winter and YouTube I think go hand in hand and I mean I love to eat, shop and have plenty of activities, so why not film them. But the editing is a pain and is super long, nothing like my mini vlogs on Instagram to be very honest. But this is the perfect time to take up YouTube and hopefully make it your full-time gig in 2023. I mean the stories you could tell and the fun you could have, just imagine, plus it is a free winter hobby to do. All in all a must try to say the least.

Dear Misfits

I mean I love the wintertime, and one of my favourite things is to actually adapt, change and develop some fun winter hobbies. These are the best winter hobbies for adults and I mean, come one, there is always something to do when it comes to winter.

I know that these times can get challenging and make it hard. Especially when the times have changed, it gets darker and colder and around the holidays, stress is always heightened. But, that is why you have so many winter hobbies that you could partake in and make sure to make sustainable. I am a big believer in making a skillset or taking up a hobby shouldn’t just be for the time being. I fall too much in love with or get too engrossed into learning something, where it just sticks and is time consuming. Like this blog, YES I AM GUILTY for not being consistent but hey, at least I am trying.

For me Instagramming and blogging is a way to connect with people and really just focus in on my writing and building my community. Something that I have felt so out of sync with as of late. But now is the time to take this journey and really keep this up, especially when with the New Year, New Goals and NEW ME ERA!!!! 😊

Don’t worry, we’re all trying but these top winter hobby ideas are no doubt gunna change your life.

Love

Misfit Murrium
