8 Best Valentine’s Day Date Ideas for a Romantic Valentine’s

This article is all about the best Valentine’s Day date ideas for a romantic date night

I’m a sucker for romance and when it comes to Valentine’s Day, I love some romantic date night ideas! The best Valentine’s Day date ideas are the ones that you enjoy without having to worry about overspending. I know Valentine’s Day isn’t exactly for everyone and while most people hate the idea of Valentine’s, I love it! Yes, I am super-duper single lol, but that doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate the day of love (okay I’m sounding too weird but it’s true).

It’s a good excuse to celebrate love and cherish the people that have been with you forever. I love to have a nice day with my friends. I remember, last year, I was at the office and me and all my gal pals celebrated Valentine’s Day with food and a cake. It is a day to show appreciation and love to your friends, significant others and even your family!

I’m not a big flower or chocolate person, (allergic as hell to flowers), but I love the overall vibe of Valentine’s Day! So, this year, even though I am super single, I’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a BANG! These really good Valentine’s Day date ideas are for everyone!

1.    Play Games and Laugh as Hard as You Can

I love games, and making sure everyone has a good time. I’m always the person who wants to give ideas when it comes to game night. This Valentine’s Day, have fun with some really cute Valentine’s Date games. It was my friend’s bridal shower in December, and we made some really cute date night ideas and wrote them down on date night cards that I designed. So, get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day and play date games, who said it games and really cheesy stuff that you can imagine 😉.

2.    Dinner and a Movie the Unconventional Way

I know Valentine’s Day is all about romance, but that doesn’t mean you have to put on a lovey-dovey movie and cry tears. Romantic Valentines Day ideas for dinner and a movie don’t mean you put on some sad movies and cry tears while eating popcorn. Cook Italian food and watch an Italian movie I know dinner dates at home can get a bit boring, but spice it up a little. The perfect valentines date ideas are the ones that you can’t wait for and actually enjoy. If you’re a super big harry potter fan or love rom-coms, make a theme out of it. Or even if you’re not into romantic movies, turn on a supernatural show or a horror film and cuddle under the blankets!

3.    Take The Day to Yourself

A Valentine’s Day date doesn’t have to be cramped in at the last second. Take the time out to appreciate your loved ones and spend the entire day with them. Go out on a romantic date, take a nice stroll through the park and enjoy the views of the city. Whatever it is, make sure to spend some quality time for you and your partner to enjoy the most. I know if I had someone special, I would take the entire day off just to be with them. Spending the day together is so much fun and you can do a lot more than planned. Go for breakfast, take a nice walk and have a picnic date and at the end top it off with some ice cream and a goodnight kiss (or two 😉).

4.    Take Action on Your Bucket List

There are so many things that we always have planned, and we want to do them. But never get around to it. Take the time out this Valentine’s Day to do what you have planned. Take that in-country trip or go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. Even if it is the smallest of things, do it now. Book that spa appointment for a couples massage or sit down and plan out your bucket list for the year ahead. Take time out for each other and really connect this time and make sure to tick each and everything off. I love to plan things out so if I ever ended up finding someone who loved the same, that would be AAAMAAAZING!

5.    Cook and Dance

I’m not a big cooking person, I love to eat though…lol. But, I love the idea of cooking and dancing, especially on a day full of love like Valentine’s Day. It’s also the perfect at-home date night idea to do on a budget. We all want to do stuff with our loved ones that won’t break the bank and this cooking date idea is the ideal thing. You can do it regardless of if you have a partner or not. I would do it with just friends and make it a friends date night. We would cook, dance, laugh and probably make so many kitchens disaster happen that it would be a wonderful memory for next year. This is an ideal way to spend date night with your friends on Valentine’s 😊

6.    Write Letters to Open The Next Year

I love writing meaningful things for the people I love. Especially when sometimes, I don’t say “I love you” very often. I LOVE THIS IDEA! Doing an at home Valentine’s Day ideas for your loved ones is more memorable than anything else. I am such a big collector of things. I collect birthday cards and any type of sticky note that has been given to me by a friend. I even collect random things that I later scrapbook. I make cards for my friends and for me, that is a special way to show them how much I care. So, this Valentine’s Day, write a nice letter to gift to your significant other and make them open it on next year’s Valentine’s! 😊

7.    Absorb In Nature by Walking or Hiking

I’m not a big fitness freak, like I like to workout but not that much. But I do understand, that for many couples, fitness is a big part. If you’re an outdoorsy person, then taking a walk or hike and absorbing nature is the perfect bet and perfect date idea. It is the best day date for Valentine’s Day without overcomplicating the entire process. I understand that Valentine’s Day is super hectic and can be a tad bit frustrating, but the more simple you make it, the more memorable it is. Go on a walk and do something outdoors, trust me, it’ll be even more special.

8.    Learn Something New and Exciting

You don’t have to be nerdy to learn something new. I’m a big fan of learning new skills. Right now, I am learning WordPress lol and Turkish. But, I love to learn and I think everyone around me does as well. You don’t always have to romanticize Valentine’s Day, especially if you’re single or with friends. You can learn how to bake, cook or even learn to ride a bike (I don’t know how to ride a bike and it is on my bucket list). The right Valentine’s Day date ideas are the ones that excite you and push your boundaries. Even if it means getting out of your comfort zone a little bit. Learn something and when you’re learning it with your partner, it makes it even more fun to do!

Dear Misfits

I know Valentine’s Day can be super tough, especially when you’re single as hell… like me lol. But, instead of dwelling on the fact you don’t have anyone to celebrate it with, celebrate it with yourself. For me, this Valentine’s Day I will be celebrating it with friends and my mum. Because it is a day to show them how much you love them and that is something special. You don’t have to have a special someone to feel special, you are enough for yourself. And I am even slowly learning how to be okay with being alone.

Go out and enjoy this Valentine’s Day and make it memorable. Set the bar high for yourself. So when that someone special does come along, you will know what you like and deserve!

Love you loads

Misfit Murrium

xoxo
