How To Have The Best Summer Of Your Life

Want to have the best summer ever? Want to look your best and feel your best? Our how to have the best summer of your life post is all about that!!

I’m a sucker for when the weather changes. I love it! You know the one thing I really will be focusing on this summertime? It’s enjoying the weather, without regrets and a whole lot of fun lol.

For me, summer is about making sure you live your best life and get all of those health goals in place. I have asthma, so exercising in the winter is such a difficulty! That’s why summer is all about looking hot like super super hot lol and enjoying every moment possible. 😊

It’s the season when you get to relax, work on your goals, plan for the winter and eat a bunch of ice cream 😊. While I know how easy it can be to ignore your health and put every single thing off, let’s actually enjoy all things summertime and fully immerse ourselves in the warm weather.

1.    Make all your summer plans

Back when the colder months made you feel dry, you set out all of the resolutions you could think. Especially when New Year was around the corner, you probably made some interesting New Year resolutions! But now, seen as the initial enthusiasm has worn off, you’re probably not into the goal-orientated mood. Lol, I absolutely understand how you feel and have been through it so many times (too many to count lol)! :0

But just because summer has come around and your goals seem like a thing of the past, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be actively working on them. Summer is the perfect time to work on your goals and adapt them accordingly as well. I know that for me, getting healthy and happy this year is at the top of the list. But since summer is here, and I am working so much lol, I have to really adapt and change up my routine to fit in exercise and have a healthy lifestyle.

Another one of my summer plans is to have a killer-ass wardrobe. To find my personal style and make sure that I’m feeling my best at all times. I know this might sound super small, but it can make a difference to have the best summer of your life. 😊

2.    Set aside time for yourself

I’m such an awful person when it comes down to setting aside time for myself. I rarely do because I’m constantly working and taking care of others and their happiness. But this time around, I am going to start setting aside some time out of the day for myself. Focusing on my mental health and becoming the best version I can possibly become!

But I do understand that when your schedule is jam-packed with stuff; whether you’re a school/college goer or work in a professional environment, it can become hard to carve out some time. But seeing as summer is right around the corner, now is a best time than ever before. All of the aforementioned plans that you’ve either thought of or set out. it’s high time to make them happen this summer to live your life with internal satisfaction! To do this, schedule a little bit of time out of your calendar – either in the week or day and start focusing on your life and mental health, enjoying the summer as you go lol. (Trust me, it makes the difference).

3.    Be a positive bee this summertime

I love how summers can uplift your energy and make you more positive. Because the sun is out and you get to enjoy the weather more than the wintertime, your mind is more positive than ever. There’s one thing focusing on your goals, but not to the point where you become obsessive (lol I’m one of those obsessive type-a personalities, but yay, trying at least not to be lol).

Instead of always doing everything for the future you, do things for now. Try to live in the moment by patting yourself on the back. Take that trip you’ve always wanted, and enjoy the weather by eating outside rather than always ordering in. Because at the end of the day, no matter how small of the goal you’ve achieved, you deserve the treat and to feel appreciated! Sometimes. the smallest of things can turn you into more of a positive person and help you to realize that not every moment should be lived for the future – because living, for now, is always the right thing for your internal happiness and well-being.

4.    Take some time off in the summer months

Now I know this can’t be done for all – or even for long periods lol. But, taking some time off in the months of summer can do us all some good. Right? Carve out a few weeks to go on that retreat or do a staycation with your friends. Enjoy the summer and go to the beach (if you live in a city where beaches are lol). I’m such a big water fan, maybe because my star sign is Taurus, but this summer, I’m going to start taking up swimming again. I used to do this every Saturday, go swimming with my friends and really enjoy the time spent. Now, because summer is approaching fast lol, let’s all enjoy it before the colder months hit us once again. 😊

5.    Take up a hobby

Hobbies aren’t for all, but they’re super fun at doing. It could be the little things like learning a new language (lol I know that’s not exactly little but still ;)). Start learning to ride a bike or take up a jewellery-making course and start selling your homemade jewellery online.

I love making printables and greeting cards, and hopefully, one day, have a greeting card business where I can sell some fun stuff. I like to think of myself as being a creative person (a little self-brag doesn’t harm anyone right lol?)

Another thing to do is start scrapbooking! OMG, I love scrapbooking so much, I even have my own. Although I need to start filling it up more, summer is the perfect time to make memories and take selfies and random candid pictures of everyone lol. (My friends hate me for it). But take pictures and print them out on polaroids to make it even more special. So, one day, when you look back at those beautiful memories, you’ll smile and think of all the fun you had and all the beautiful people you had in your life – and hopefully still have 😊.

6.    Go to the gym or workout

I’m just a lazy person lol that’s why I hate going to the gym. But this summer, I want to have that hot girl summer body that every person will be rocking. You don’t have to go to the gym to look and feel your best. Because it’s summer, you can take up a new sport. I really wanna learn how to dance, so hopefully this year, I’ll take a dance class or a few and go swimming at this local health club. Working out shouldn’t seem like something you have to do, it should feel like something you want to be doing – every day. I love to box, swim, dance and even do the treadmill on an incline lol.

7.    Go with the flow

I hate and I mean absolutely hate not knowing what’s about to happen. But, I mean, it’s a part of life, right? This summer, let’s all go with the flow and watch what happens. Sometimes, the most amazing things happen by chance (or at least that’s what I am training my mind to think lol)!!!!

Sometimes, planning is the best thing you can do, but sometimes, watching what happens without a plan is even better. Instead of always stressing that nothing is working out in the way you want, let the universe decide what is best and have that go-with-the-flow moment.

8.    Manifest and manifest some more

I’m such a big sucker for manifestation and the lucky girl syndrome – it’s the one thing that is motivating me in life right now tbh. So, make a vision board, learn to love your life and have an abundance mindset. Stop worrying or overthinking, enjoy the moment and be positive.

Try to manifest before going to bed, really envisioning where you want to be in life with all of your goals in mind. Act as if you’ve achieved them and watch what happens when you do this – constantly.

The one thing I have learned about manifesting your dream life is to be consistent and do it every single day. That’s why I made a vision board as wallpaper on my phone, to wake up every single morning and see all of my goals and plans that I wanna achieve. It’s such a motivator!! 😊

9.    Have a digital detox

Lol, we all need a social media detox these days. I’m on the medium scale of social media use lol, my fav is Instagram and Pinterest lol.

I use social media at night, but sometimes, when I’m scrolling through my Insta feed, I get upset because everyone seems to be living their best life. But that’s not the case, because social media is only a fragment of what you see. Even with my own, I only show the highlights of my day (which are far less than the not-so-good parts lol 😑).

This summer, have a total of a one-week social media detox. Cleanse your soul lol!!! Don’t be active on socials and make sure to not scroll through your Instagram feed as well (I see you lol)!! 😊

10.Decorate your space for summer

I love to see nicely decorated homes (even though I have no clue about decorating). But, one day, when I buy my own home or even have my own apartment on rent, I’ll decorate for each season lol. But seen as the summer months are right around us, decorate your home with vibrant colours, have that perfect summer vibe going on and make it lively. Now, I’m not going to go on too much about decorating stuff, because I frankly don’t know enough. For home-decor inspiration, you need to check out By Sophia Lee, she’s amazing.

11.Clean up your digital space and get organised

Now, I am a fanatic when it comes to organising my digital space. I’m in love with and a bit obsessive when it comes to files and folders and making everything look pretty and aesthetic. For management, I use Google Sheets (really love it lol), but I am so into using Notion as well. I love the page-within-a-page concept of Notion – I think it is tremendous!! I also love to declutter my inbox every 2 months or so. Lol, these things make me super duper excited and I have everything labelled, organized and neatly done on my laptop, phone and Google Drive. Even my sheets are colour-coded and formulated.

If you want to see how I organise my blog using Google Sheets, then I can write a super informative blog post on how I manage my content calendar and every other aspect of my blogging journey!

12.Reflect each summer month on your progress

Now, this shouldn’t be limited to just the summer months, but still, it’s a perfect way to reflect while basking in the sun lol. I’m such a big person in reflecting on my life and my goals and seeing what I’ve been able to achieve. I think it is just such a motivational thing – to keep your striving for more and more and more!!!!

For instance, turning this blog into something of a community and success is one of my main goals. And right now, I am doing pretty well (pat on my back). And that is only happening because I’m reflecting on my previous months and seeing what was working and what wasn’t. But, when it comes down to working out, I never really did it with much intention. Now, when the summer hits (like it should lol), I’ll be reflecting each month to see what worked and what didn’t. This way, you get to make sure that you stay on track with your goals and adapt as needed. It’s an awesome thing to do lol 😊.

13.Love life

Such a simple thing right? Well, technically it’s not so simple. We’re just living life but not actually living – if you catch my drift lol. This summer and for years to come, I am going to start loving my life and making sure I am always happy. I don’t want my life to go by and only have a few happy moments and memories. I want to make memories and enjoy every damn moment with myself, my friends and my family! And you should too. Love life, live life and be free of toxic energy. Be positive and watch how your mindset will change. How your goals will come into reality and you’ll end up with much more than you imagined – trust me 😊.

Dear Misfits

I know how hard it can be for people who hate change. I mean you barely got used to the winter and now a whole bloody season is coming. Adapting is hard. But the one thing you need to do is start loving who you are and change for the better (not because you think you have to). Love every moment of this new season and this summer, and do things you never thought of doing. Go on that trip, plan a date night (solo or otherwise) and learn to make memories on the go. Let’s all enjoy our lives and be the best we can be!

Happy summer

xoxo
